NASEO Hosts Petroleum Shortage Response Planning Workshop

On February 21-22, NASEO, in partnership with the National Emergency Management Association, and with support from the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability, hosted a Petroleum Shortage Response Planning Workshop, for states in the Southeast and South-Central regions to explore how states might develop more comprehensive plans to respond to fuel shortages. Utilizing NASEO’s newly released Guidance for States on Petroleum Shortage Response Planning, workshop attendees from state energy offices, state emergency management agencies, industry, and the federal government participated in facilitated discussions focused on responding to a category 3 hurricane and subsequent cyber-attack to oil and natural gas supply critical infrastructure systems.
