Texas A&M Announces Plans for Largest Solar Institute in the World

The Center for Solar Energy at Texas A&M University will be the largest of its kind in the world. The new 800-acre, 50-megawatt solar facility will test new technologies for creating electricity from the sun. The facility will aim to supply all of the campus’ electrical needs, as well as provide power to 20,000 additional homes. The center will serve as an incubator to accelerate emerging technologies from early concept to market ready.
