U.S. House Appropriations Committee Releases Fiscal Year 2015 Interior and Environment Bill

On July 8, 2014, the House Appropriations Committee announced the fiscal year 2015 Interior and Environment Appropriation bill. The bill includes funding for the U.S. Department of the Interior, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and various independent and related agencies. The bill would fund EPA at $7.5 billion, a reduction of 9 percent or $717 million below the fiscal year 2014 enacted level. The bill also includes provisions to prohibit EPA from implementing greenhouse gas regulations impacting new and existing power plants.
