In a letter to Senator Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND) on September 16, 2014, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) formally extended the period for public comment for the agency's draft Clean Power Plan rule under Section 111(d) of the Clean Air Act. The new deadline for comments on the plan are due December 1, 2014.
NASEO is developing comments on compliance aspects of the draft rule. EPA has also expressed interest in collecting written questions from State Energy Offices and NASEO requested EPA staff to participate on calls with State Energy Offices to respond to the questions. If your state would find these calls valuable, please contact Chris Wagner (cwagner@naseo.org), who will begin collecting state questions.
