Massachusetts to Host Webinar on Building Asset Rating Pilot for Commercial Buildings

The Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (DOER) and Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships (NEEP) will host a webinar on Tuesday, January 29 at 2 pm EST to discuss the preliminary results of the Massachusetts Building Asset Rating pilot for commercial buildings.  The webinar registration is available at https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/137614217.

In 2012, DOER and NEEP launched Phase 1 of a pilot to field test innovative methodologies that seek to generate reliable commercial building asset ratings at less cost and in less time than traditional methods. Building energy “asset” ratings serve an important role advancing energy efficiency in the building sector by providing market actors with a better understanding of a building's as-built energy use, irrespective of occupant behavior.

The webinar will report on the preliminary findings of Phase 1 as well as plans for Phase 2, which seeks to refine and expand the pilot within the Greater Boston region. Lessons learned in Phase 1 and opportunities for improving commercial building energy asset ratings will also be discussed.
