Energy affordability remains a critical issue for households, businesses, and communities across the United States as rising energy costs continue to place strain on local economies. Ensuring that residents and businesses can reliably access the energy services they need at manageable and predictable costs is essential for economic stability and community resilience.

State and Territory Energy Offices play a key role in advancing energy affordability by developing policies, programs, and partnerships that help reduce energy burdens and expand access to cost-saving solutions. To support states in advancing energy affordability, NASEO convenes a bi-monthly Energy Affordability Committee, which serves as a forum for State Energy Offices and private sector leaders to share best practices and resources that advance energy cost savings for ratepayers across the United States.

The NASEO Energy Affordability Committee engages State and Territory Energy Offices and private sector leaders working to advance energy cost savings for homes and businesses across the United States. The Committee is open to all State and Territory Energy Offices and NASEO Affiliate Partners and serves as a forum to share best practices and resources.
